How to play Yukon Solitaire

Yukon Solitaire gives you a focused activity to play in your browser. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Read the objective before making your first input. Look at what changes after your first action.

One deck, no stock, Yukon deal. Free solo play, no wagering.

Build a steady rhythm

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Step by step

  1. Build down in alternating colours. Any face-up card carries all cards below it, even when unordered. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.

A useful example

A red 6 carrying an unordered tail can move onto a black 7. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Read the matching step again.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
