How to play Visual Memory

Take a moment with Visual Memory before moving to another game. Select every square that was shown. Selecting an unshown square ends the session. Look at what changes after your first action. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

A careful first round

Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Select every square that was shown. Selecting an unshown square ends the session. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

Step by step

  1. Start a round and watch the highlighted cells.
  2. Wait until the board hides the pattern.
  3. Select the positions you remember; order does not matter.
  4. Complete the pattern to advance.

Controls

Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.

A useful example

If the four corner squares were shown, select those four corners in any order. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Keep the game’s format in mind.

Watch out for this

Unlike Sequence Memory, this game does not require the original order. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart.
